1. LECTURE NOTES
In the lecture of the second week, we learned about the basics of early filmmaking and, during the filming process of movie shots, elements like camera angle, distance, and height.
- Shot Size
The shot size determines how large the area that's visible within the frame.
1). Wide Shot (W.S): W.S includes the entire subject and important objects in the immediate surroundings. It's also called 'establishing shot', when is as a beginning scene.
2). Medim Shot (M.S): M.S shows the subjects that are important to surrounding. For example, gesture and expression, from the person's waist up, and the lower half of the character's body fall outside the frame.
3). Close-up Shot (C.U): This emphasizes and highlights a single important element.
4). Medium Wide Shot (M.W.S): M.W.S is enough to show the physical setting in which the action is taking place, and it permits a nice balance of figure and surroundings.
5). Medium Close-up Shot (M.C.U): M.C.U films the subject character from approximately midway between the waist and shoulders to above the hand.
6). Extreme Wide Shot (E.W.S): E.W.S is used to show where characters is in their environment.
7). Extreme Close-up Shot (E.C.U): E.C.U is to focus on important detail of the object, either to increase the drama or impact on a situation or to allow the viewer to see necessary picture information more clearly.
8). Over the Shoulder Shot (O.S): It shows the subject from behind the shoulder of another person.

3. EXERCISE 2
3.1 Exercise 2.1 - Shooting practice, shoot & editing - Add Caption
After learning about film shots of different sizes and angles, we were asked to practice shooting eight commonly used shots: Low-angle Wide Shot; Frontal MCU; Frontal MS; ECU; Side angle MS; 3/4 angling MCU; Close-up shot; Eye Level Medium Wide.
After finishing the shooting, we edited the eight clips together. We also learned how to use Premiere Pro (Pr) to add text and graphics to our videos, as well as apply transition effects. Below is my final work:

3.2 Exercise 2
In the lecture of the third week, to better grasp and apply the knowledge about camera angles we had learned in the second and third weeks, we conducted shooting exercises again, which included some camera angles we hadn't tried in the second week's practice.
