1.2 Lecture Notes

During our third week of study, we formed different groups to complete the initial tasks for Project 1. We organized the character lines, counted their number from the first scene to the last, noted the number of camera scene transitions, and prepared all types of audio and sound effects needed for the video dubbing.

Once everything was ready, in the fourth week’s lecture, the professor demonstrated in detail how to use Premiere Pro (Pr) to complete video dubbing, helping us finish the task better.

  • Two types of sound effects:

The dubbing sound effects of the video mainly consist of two parts: background sound effects and hard sound effects. Simply put, background sound effects are those that set the scene's atmosphere, such as the noise of a crowd or the sound of wind.

Hard sound effects, on the other hand, are the sounds made by the characters' actions. They synchronize with the specific movements of the characters in the video, such as the sound of rummaging for things or opening a door.

Hard Sound Effects: Specific sounds that are added to a film to enhance a particular action or event, such as a door creaking, glass breaking, or a gunshot.

Ambient Effects: Background noise in a film, such as traffic, wind, or crowd noise, that helps to create a sense of environment and atmosphere.
