Week 12 NAME: Miao Xinjun I.D: 0379525 GROUP: 1 1. LECTURE This week, I basically completed my final work and showed it to the professor, and then continued to receive feedback: The work is good. Don't forget to combine the foldable screen and vertical screen sizes of the animated posters into one template and submit it. 2. PRACTICAL Final Work: 3. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGINE - Week 11

Image
Week11 NAME:Miao Xinjun I.D:0379525 GROUP: 1 1.LECTURE In this week's lecture, we presented our task progress to the professor and made improvements after receiving feedback. The software I mainly use to make animations is Ps. During the process of making animations with Ps, I encountered a bit of a problem. I tried to make the elements in my poster rotate according to the steps in the video tutorial, but I never succeeded. The professor quickly helped me solve this problem. I found that I couldn't make each individual element in the poster rotate because I forgot to select the corresponding layer before setting the keyframe. I think the main reason for this mistake is that I was used to making animations with Ae before, so I'm not familiar enough with the animation production function of Ps. 2. PRACTICAL 2.1 PART 2 - Design Direction 2.1.1 Sketch your mock up poster Since this task was based on the animation production of the previous project, I directly used the magic lo...

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING - Week 10

Week 10 NAME: Miao Xinjun I.D: 0379525 GROUP: 1 1. LECTURE In this week's lecture, the professor elaborated in detail on what we need to do and the requirements in the final task: The duration of the final project is from the tenth week to the thirteenth week. This project is also divided into multiple parts. During the tenth week to the thirteenth week, we need to complete the tasks of each week in a timely manner. The final project is based on the task of Project 2B. Our main task is to animate the magic lock screen design poster we made in Project 2B using Ae and Ps. 2.  FINAL PROJECT - PART 1: 2.1 Idea Development 2.1.1 Write a biography about yourself INTRO Tell us about yourself My name is Miao Xinjun. I was born and raised in Fuzhou, a coastal city in China. I’m not an outgoing person, but my social life isn’t dull. I love my family and friends, and I love my life just as much. The love they’ve given me keeps me brave and steady whenever I face difficulties and challenges. P...

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGONG - Week 8

Image
Week 8 NAME: Miao Xinjun I.D: 0379525 GROUP: 1 1. LECTURE In the lecture of Week 8, the professor once again reminded us of the task requirements and details that need attention, reviewed our task progress, continuously provided feedback, and addressed our confusion. The main task for Week 8 was to further refine our magic lock screen poster designs based on the works completed in Week 7, in preparation for the final work in Week 9. 2. PRACTICAL In the task for Week 7, I had already completed the poster design for the lock screen interface; thus, my primary task this week was to create the poster design for the always-on display interface. In the poster design for the always-on display interface, I incorporated some elements from the lock screen poster design to reflect the same design concept, making the two interface posters appear to belong to the same thematic series. Additionally, I added some special effects to enhance the visual impact of the always-on display poster. 3. TUTORIA...

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING - PROJECT 2

PROJECT 2 NAME: Miaoxinjun I.D: 0379525 COURSE: Digital Photography and Imaging GROUP: 1 1. PHOTOSHOP EXERCISES 1.1 Digital Imaging Exercises 1 - Photo Manipulation 1.1.1 Hearst Mansion: 1.1.2 Your Photo Version 1.2 Digital Imaging Exercises 2 - Recoloring Black & White 1.2.1Exercise 1 1.2.2 Exercises 2 1.3 Double Exposure Creating double exposures is the skill I found most interesting. Both double exposures and collages seem to use many different image elements to create design works, but the most distinctive feature of double exposure is its ability to overlay two photos, making them merge into a single whole. When combined with the use of other image elements, it presents a unique visual effect. 1.3.1 Follow Tutorial 1.3.2 My Own Double Exposure 2. REFLECTIVE WRITING I think Project 2 involves more use of Photoshop compared to Project 1. During the process of completing Project 2, the professor guided us step by step from the basic functions and commonly used tools of...

Week 7 NAME: Miao Xinjun I.D: 0379525 GROUP: 1 1. LECTURE In this week’s lecture, the teacher reviewed our task progress and drafts, provided feedback, and answered the questions we encountered while completing the tasks, helping us study more efficiently and continue with the tasks. 2. PRACTICAL 2.1 Define your Concept 2.1.1 Visualize the theme from your Quotes of the day 2.2 Sketch your mock up poster: In the step of drawing drafts, I created two different drafts based on two screen sizes: foldable screens and regular screens SKETCH #1 (Hand Drawing) When completing the first hand-drawn draft, I focused on the composition and layout of the poster, so I tried using a black-and-white draft to show the positions and spatial distribution of different elements in the poster. Figure 2.1.2.1  Hand-drawn sketch 1 After finishing the first hand-drawn draft, I had new ideas, so I chose another screen size to create the second draft. This time, on the basis of the composition, I added...

Techniques Applied Week 8 In this week’s lecture, we learned how to create different types of texture brushes and use them, as well as how to make patterns and  add stippling grain texture. Week 10 In this week’s lecture, we learned the most important technique needed for Task 3—using After Effects to create animations. Additional techniques that I researched on my own: I noticed that when using AI painting, some overlapping paths made it impossible to remove excess lines with the...

TECHNIQUES APPLIED Week5 This week, we focused primarily on learning how to use Adobe Illustrator to turn vector illustrations with environmental preview into collectible cards. I think this is the most essential skill we need to complete Task 2. Week6 In the Week 6 lectures, we deepened our understanding of composition theories and various compositional forms (such as the rule of thirds, golden ratio, Radal, etc.). Through the instructor’s demonstration, we also mastered how to use tools in Adobe Illustrator to complete our final compos...

In this task, I used the techniques from the previous three assignments. The final task confirmed that I’ve fully mastered the basic skills of Adobe Illustrator drawing, and it helped me connect the knowledge I’d learned before about topics like color and composition. In the lectures during the first two weeks, the professor explained the deta...
